(The most important thing I have learnt from this program is gaining) better knowledge and skills about handling students with special needs. When I go to work, I have better understanding about my students and their psychological issues. (I liked how) the hours and days of courses were very flexible. Lecturers of all modules were very understanding and friendly. (ASAS) was the only school that offered the course I wanted.
I am able to learn a lot from my modules and be able to understand more about psychology and the various types of psychology. There (were) so many things that I have never learn before and I (was) able to learn a lot from the program, which can benefit me for my future career and (on a personal level). I have learnt that your hard work and determination will pay off, so long as you do not give up half-way. Completing the assignments itself were a great help to study for the exam. The modules were structured very conveniently for working adults. Initially, I wanted to do the criminology course and got into ASAS as it was the only school I knew offering the course. I did change my emphasis later on, but I’m happy I chose ASAS as it has made my journey to graduation much easier with much help given.
The tutors are more friendly and ready to assist us in our assignments and essays at any time. They respond to us via email. I have learnt to be more confident in handling my patient. (I am) able to counsel them in time of pain management and despair, which I think is a success in my life which this program assisted in many various ways. (The) Specialist Diploma in Psychology (Studies) has (motivated) me to upgrade myself to pursue my degree.
I learnt a lot from my lecturers (Ms Karen, Ms Suki and Ms Celine). They inspired me to become a better educarer to children which is what I’m pursuing in life. (What I liked best about the program were) the lecturers, the people, and the challenging multiple choice exams and essays.

I have learned the concept of psychology and how I can apply dealing with people in my daily life. The concepts/theories related to various personality in a person and some of the techniques in counselling a person. The program is broken down into exams, essays and assignments which allows me to have a wide knowledge of each modules. (ASAS is) the only institute that I researched offering diploma in criminology in Singapore.

I have learnt many things from the course, especially (understanding) criminal minds. I like everything in the program. ASAS is the only school (that gives) me a chance to (pursue) my diploma after my ‘O’ Levels. And thanks to all the (lecturers) for all the knowledge and guidance.
I’ve (learnt) the basics of psychology, case studies and analysis which allowed me to understand the field of psychology a lot more. I like the flexibility of the classroom schedule and the emphasis on course work (over) exams. (I chose ASAS because) it allows me to have the flexibility to work and study at the same time.
(The most important thing I have learnt from this program is to be) disciplined and persistent in doing part-time studies. (The lecturers positively) affect students’ morale and motivation to study. This program broadened my knowledge and exposed me to a variety of perspectives from psychological point of view. It enables me to link psychology with the roots of crime and social issues. The best thing about the program is the flexibility as well as the wide range of modules available sets my mind at ease throughout the course. I would also like to applaud the lecturers for their efforts in teaching the students. Their vast experiences helped us to learn more (with) their real life situations. I chose ASAS as their programs offers specialized programs that other private schools do not offer.

The knowledge delivered is different from the other basic counselling course, such as the variables and lobes in the brain.
Praveen (the instructor) is very knowledgeable in all aspects of counselling, neurological, etc. Would definitely join his class again. Still have many things to learn from him.
Complicated psychological concepts were explained in clearer and simpler terms. Good use of discussion groups. Clinical aspects were explained clearly, followed with examples and case studies. Course could have been longer if possible. Efficient admin staff, friendly as well.
Even without any formal background in counselling, I am able to understand more about counselling.
