In addition to the WSQ Qualification Requirements for Adult Educators, all trainers, assessors and curriculum developers for modules under the SV CF should have the following:

At least two (2) years’ service-related experience at supervisory level, or

At least three (3) years’ experience as a consultant, trainer, assessor or curriculum developer in services sector with evidence of maintaining currency in the last three (3) years

 

Technical or Vocational Requirements

The trainer/assessor must be able to demonstrate current competency in the Competency Unit. Current competency will usually be demonstrated by the completion of a relevant technical or vocational qualification. However, a person with a qualification in an area that is different from the training programme in which the Competency Unit is delivered may meet the requirements to deliver the training programme. It is recommended that the trainer/assessor hold a qualification higher than the level of qualification being delivered.

 

Relevant Experience

The trainer/assessor must have at least three (3) years’ BM experience gained no longer than five (5) years previously at the appropriate level for each Competency Unit taught, or have relevant equivalent experience. The trainer/assessor must also be able to provide evidence of maintaining currency, for example, through recent work in the industry as manager, consultant or trainer, or professional development or active membership of a professional association.

 

Competency Requirements

The trainer/assessor must be certified competent in competency-based training and assessment.
